Ignite DCS: Professional Learning Summit - February 17, 2020 has ended
The 2nd Ignite DCS Professional Learning Summit is TODAY!
The Opening Session is from 8:30 - 9:30 in the FFHS Auditorium.
All staff attending the summit should sign up for and attend the opening session.

Schedule
Sign up for one Breakout Session during each time slot along with your Job Alike PLC Session.
Sessions will fill up quickly - so sign up ASAP to get your first choice! 
*There are a few 90-minute sessions during Session 1 and 2, read times carefully.

8:30 - 9:30 Opening Session
9:30 - 10:00 Transition Time
10:00 - 10:45 Breakout Session 1
11:00 - 11:45 Breakout Session 2
11:45 - 1:00 pm Lunch on your own 
1:00 - 1:45 pm Breakout Session 3
2:00 - 3:00 pm Job Alike PLC Sessions
*All EC Staff should register for the EC Department Session from 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Sessions will be locked on February 14, 2020 at 5 pm.
You can edit or change your schedule until that deadline.


Lunch
We will have 4 food trucks on campus for lunch if you’d like to stick around FFHS.

To Bring:
- You will need your UID Number to sign in to each session for attendance and to receive CEU credit.
- A device that connects to the internet. Your phone is fine! See session descriptions for specific device needs.
- Jacket or sweater if the building gets chilly.
- Water, a snack, anything you may need during sessions.

Understanding Personalized Learning with the Core 5
Feedback form is now closed.

The Core 5 seeks to answer a common way to meet the needs of NC State Standards, The Dare County Schools Graduate Profile, College and Career Readiness, and Instructional Technology Standards. With each of these pieces in mind, I have developed a "Tactics Bank" for teachers looking to develop personalized/active learning in their classrooms. I believe, if teachers can genuinely "check" boxes under these specific categories, then they are likely meeting the needs for the standards mentioned above. In addition to teachers' planning, I believe it is of the utmost importance that both teachers, administrators, and district personnel speak the same language when it comes to personalized/active learning. With this in mind, I developed a "Walkthrough Tool" for teachers and administrators. This tool will help both teachers and administrators ask the right questions and develop more effective conversations during walkthroughs/coaching. I have included a copy of the tool below:
